AmeriCorps Seniors

Core programs include:
- The Foster Grandparent Program: mentors and guides students to higher academic achievement.

- The Senior Companion Program: aims to help seniors live independently for longer by providing companionship and assistance with daily living tasks.
Catholic Charities
Catholic Charities offers two programs specifically for volunteers aged 55 and older.
- AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP works as a volunteer clearinghouse, connecting individuals with Catholic Charities programs and other local organizations with volunteer needs. The time commitment is flexible, and volunteers can choose to work from home by phone or internet, or they can consider opportunities in the community. There are no education or skill requirements for volunteers, and AmeriCorps, a federal agency, provides substantial funding and administers the RSVP program.
- Senior Companion Program The Senior Companion program focuses on providing assistance and friendship to older adults who have difficulty with daily living tasks within their own homes. Through this program, AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers keep seniors independent longer and provide respite to family caregivers.
- Adult Day Service volunteers help with meal service, clerical tasks, and creating oral histories for clients.
