Ageism and the Intergenerational Future
The United States has often been described as one of the most age-segregated societies in history. Ageism in the U.S. imposes a significant burden on both individuals and communities. It shortens lifespans, undermines business effectiveness, and costs the healthcare system an estimated $63 billion annually. While ageism predominantly affects older individuals, it also impacts the opportunities and aspirations of younger generations. The Century Summit V will address the challenges of ageism and explore opportunities for fostering a positive intergenerational society. By bringing together leaders from various fields and generations, we aim to discuss and envision a society that is less ageist and encourages collaboration across all age groups.
